Why A Modular Home Is A Better Choice
A modular home is built indoors in a controlled factory environment and shipped in sections to your building site for assembly on your foundation. Because the environment remains ideal and unchanging throughout the factory construction process, there are no weather delays disrupting the building schedule and no adverse effects on the materials comprising the house itself. Modular is not a type of home, but rather a superior method of building.
Our Rhode Island modular homes are built to our upgraded specifications in Beech Creek, Pennsylvania, by Haven Homes, which has been in business for over 30 years and has produced over 12,000 custom-designed homes. Most of their employees have been with the company for over 20 years, and each of their houses is designed and built to standards far in excess of the minimum building code requirements.
Construction is streamlined and efficient, taking place on a slowly advancing assembly line with well-trained craftsmen carefully working on each part of your home. Only the best materials are used, resulting in a more cost-effective, durable, and beautiful home. These homes are crafted by talented carpenters, electricians, and plumbers whose skills are at top performance thanks to the climate-controlled work environment and ultra-modern equipment.
Our Rhode Island modular homes are made of 3% kiln-dried lumber to prevent warping and twisting, 2” x 6” walls for superior insulation and energy efficiency, and plywood sheathing for enhanced strength and durability. Other modular and stick-built homes often use 2” x 4” walls and significantly less durable particleboard sheathing.
Our homes also come standard with one of the strongest floors available with 16" on center framing, double perimeter joists, a six member main carrying beam, and 1 1/8" plywood sub-floor; sheetrock as long as 20 feet to eliminate excess seams while giving a finer finish; R-38 ceiling insulation which exceeds code requirements and will keep utility bills low; and wall insulation glued to the back surface of the sheetrock so it will never shimmy down and make it less effective.
Along with many more standard provisions, Rhode Island modular homes offer a long list of optional exterior choices, including a variety of siding materials, any roof pitch from shallow to steep, any roof design from gambrel to hip to gable, skylights, and farmer’s and screened porches. Optional interior choices, to make your living as plush as desired, include designer kitchens, fireplaces, ceramic tile floors, whirlpools, hardwood floors, walk-in closets, built-in window seats, walk-in kitchen pantries,
and much more.
You will never be blindsided by surprise costs. We believe in working within your budget and are always upfront with our pricing. The total cost of your home depends on a wide range of factors, including the size of the house, the kind of heating and cooling, the number of bathrooms, the materials used throughout the house, etc. In short, the price of your home will be determined by your choice of floor plan and materials plus local site work. We will help you with any pricing questions you would like to ask.
At Rhode Island modular homes we are committed to helping you obtain your dream home and making building easy. We build your home with as much care and concern as if it were our own home. Bring your plans or choose from any of our award-winning floor plans and your personal Design Consultant will guide you through the building process, including any desired or necessary modifications for a home unique to you.
